What is? Microneedling

Microneedling is performed with a special pen that has a sterile cartridge with multiple tiny needles that penetrate skin. The concept of microneedling is to create controlled environment of small injuries on the top layer of the skin, to signal our body the need to repair and activating natural healing processes. By activating our own growth factors, platelets and white blood cells to rush and start healing process, our body starts producing extra collagen and elastin within dermis and epidermis, therefore making our skin stronger, erasing small lines and increasing cell turnover. Downtime:

Some swelling and redness is normal right after the procedure and can last up to 24 hours. Skin will be dry and tight for the next 48 hours, some peeling off skin can occur in 24 hours. Proper home care regimen is a MUST post microneedling to ensure great results. Procedure:

Registered Nurse will carefully assess skin and its needs, and determine proper product to use during the microneedling, as well as the size, amount of needling and the depth of penetration. Skin will be properly prepared by numbing it with lidocaine cream and applying Melanin Suppressant Solution to minimize any risk of PIH. 20-30 minutes of needling will be preformed, and results will be sealed with a collagen mask and 15 min of red LED light.

Homecare:

Homecare instructions will be discussed during the visit and hand out given. Good homecare products essential to the results and use of sunscreen. No exercise, gym or jacuzzi in the next 3 days, clean pillow case to be used for sleep during first night.
